In fact, the Munich-based company is pursuing a three-pronged approach: The manufacturer of commercial vehicles and trucks is developing both hydrogen trucks and battery-powered trucks. So far, the business with diesel-powered trucks is still the main component of the vehicle manufacturer.<\/p>\n<p>It was only in June 2023 that MAN officially received 4 grants totaling 24 million euros from the Bavarian state government. This sum is \u201cpart of technology funding\u201d for the development of high-voltage batteries for electric trucks and electric buses. Sometimes the further development of #fuel cells and hydrogen technologies is also supported.<\/p>\n<p>Large-scale production of high-voltage batteries is scheduled to start next year (early 2025). Until then, the battery systems will continue to be manufactured in small series. The cells &#8211; mostly #NMC battery cells from China &#8211; will then be installed in almost 100,000 high-voltage packs every year, which will equip around 25,000 trucks per year.
